Writer's Block: Fearsome

The boogeyman, global thermonuclear war, being forced to eat broccoli—there's a lot to be afraid of when you're a kid. What was your biggest childhood fear?

The only notable one I can recall is being afraid of rotating fans. I couldn't stand how alive they were while being not alive (abomination! destroy!).

I can't mention that other one.

I'm very prone to getting lost at public events or shopping malls, but I wasn't afraid.

Oh by the way, do any of you know that the extended soundtrack for Repo! The Genetic Opera is coming out February 17th? Only at Hot Topic, of all places. The casting for it is very eclectic (Sarah Brightman and Paris Hilton in the same movie, joy!), but it's a sci-fi musical set in a crapsack world. Unexpectedly, the main character has certain parallels with Luke Skywalker, but only on the most basic level (her father has a double-identity, an "emperor" tries to sway her to the "dark side" in a figurative sense). The main character is guilty of the crime of being a girl and therefore the movie got a limited release for being too risky (other than being a musical, but Moulin Rouge! was a musical too and look how it did!). Repo is one of those things that needs financial support to get a decent release (the captions on the DVD were hilariously awful). I have a soft spot for entertainment that doesn't get as much attention as expected...

As a sampler, here's "Chromaggia" from said film.

Other news: Vienna Teng's Inland Territory was released in Europe on Friday. I went to her last Seattle concert and bought the albums I hadn't bought. I applaud the lyrics for being non-generic (a breakup ballad with the American Civil War as a metaphor?). Her official forum has live recordings of songs from the album as a sampler (if you know how to find music online you can hear the real deal, but this is public entry, no?)

Now what do I do with the tickets....

She is having surgery on her vocal chords.

Send goodwill and hopes of a full recovery shhhh....the post is on the Dresden Dolls forum under touring.

ummrrff

Nemo: The alternate version
The drinking game version of mean, of Nightwish's song.

The piano teacher is playing the praise game and providing pink lemonade. Reminds me of a bit of that song from the Dresden Dolls called Lonesome Organist with the weirdo teacher....what is the status on female movie soundtrack composers, anyways?

I'm being suspicious again. I had a mint from the sheriff (long story, no crime involved). I hope it's safe because I don't feel funny yet.

A song a song!

"Riverboats have bottoms grey; a bystander am I
Pigeons are like space rocks in the backdrop of July"

Play the notes of F major inverse in backwards order, repeat with G major...

In my head the song has stolen the last bass notes from "The Crane Wife 3" by the Decemberists.

Subeta has an item which is a fried version of one of their pets. Yikes!

I was ripped off by a fancy restaurant in an outdoor mall in a small town

I was taken to a restauraunt of choice for my birthday. They didn't list the prices of the items on their menu (or didn't do a good enough job of it!)
My mom ended up paying $107 D:

I knew something was fishy about the fancy way they arranged the tiny appetizer. Arg, I don't feel too well about this. At least there will be a $50 a day reimbursement for food when my family goes house-hunting in Seattle XP

On better news, I found the cover for Knightfall on Terese Nielsen's Deviantart account. I guess I don't have to buy Spectrum 8. But I already ordered it from Border's. Errr, I guess I don't have to buy it because it's used.

Only 2 more days of Chinese school. Finally! Aha, I bought Within Temptation's US release of The Heart of Everything. So far, it's good, but I wish the lyrics were more storylike, as in their last album (aha, I should of bought that one instead, if the files weren't so easy to find and I only want it for Aquarius, which I already have and decided I should buy the album just because I might possibly like the rest of it). "Hand of Sorrow" has Jacen Solo vibes. Yes, Jacen. I wonder how he'd fare against Harry Potter. I still need to finish reading Deathly Hallows. It's taking long due to Chinese School and the fact I don't want to buy it. So I read a bit each day at the bookstore. I'm on page 111 right now, don't spoil it! My sister tried to, until I told her the Yuuzhan Vong would be angry if she said anything else. My classmate was also doing it, but wouldn't stop because "I'm not talking to you" XP

Arrrrrrrrg need to finish contest entry for Lameep. Need to get around to art trade with MistyTang. Need to listen to the album.

Stop Baiji!

Amanda Palmer posted a reply to one of my threads at the Dresden Dolls forums. Perhaps I expected this, and subconsciously prompted a reply, or the topic needed answering. Well, the answer was in the form of link, which pretty much took care of it. I tend to be a disassociative song interpreter and thought "Astronaut" wasn't about an astronaut's wife. Well I thought it was, only I tried to apply other meanings to it. Oh well, I was a bit embarassed at possibly being wrong, but I'll keep that meaning in mind when I think of other ones. I feel slightly awkward at associating the song with fictional characters. Should I? I'm rambling, it's probably nothing and a cheesecake. Yes I am it's a stream of conscious while I try to unblank my mind to reply to the Star Wars RP I'm in. The RP has completely uncanon characters, which might be the point of the RP in the first place.

The virtual pet site is still there )

Sumati posted this link, I thought I should do the same. It has the do with the Bush administration wanting to pass something that allows people to shoot wolves, even though they're endangered. Eeek.

"Astronaut" by Amanda Palmer now reminds me of river dolphins, the last line. Ai, the news about the baiji is still depressing because I watched a video about it .__.
Could anyone send me the audio?

I showed my sister a picture of a Chinese finless porpoise. I told her they live in China but bad things happen to them. She made the porpoise the desktop background.

Hyperventilation

I aced the Japanese final because there wasn't a culture section. Ai, I worried for nothing (hopefully, Japanese II in Washington doesn't start off the first test with patterns I didn't learn). I saw the Star Wars special on Robot Chicken. I felt bad when I saw what happened after the Aqualish architect lost his job after his arm got chopped off >:

Down the chute is a picture of two dolphins flying over Scapes, the Dolphin Folk name for the planet of the Air Balloon-Headed Inflatable Wise(wo)men tm. Ahahaha I checked which of my deviations on DA was most popular. Digital RotS Grievous x CW Grievous made the list with 12 favorites, a new record, although it isn't my favorite Grievous piece. Ahahahaha certain people can get 20 favorites with less talent than I currently posess. I have a big ego.

I bought In This Moment's debut CD because I thought it would be more symphonic than metal. Ahhhh.

Could anyone send me songs by Paramore, Flyleaf, and Pink Martini? I had the CD Hang on Little Tomato, but I lost it. I also don't have their first CD, Sympathique. Nor do I have Hey Eugene. I also want "Cold" by VNV Nation and "Breathe Me" by Sia.

dun dun dun Drama dun dun dun

Shamefully stated, "Beautiful Liar" by Shakira and Beyonce plays on my internal music player. That annoying background horn riff is always recurring over and over and over again. arrrrg. I severely regret listening through the whole thing on the radio on a car trip. What's more, that video disturbs me too.

There was a Cinco De Mayo musical chairs competition in the quad today. What made me unhappy was that a kid in my first period had people giving up their seats for him because he was crying and insisting on sitting on me when I sat down in the last chair. I can't believe they gave him their seats...twice. Sure, he's mentally handicapped, but I still don't think they should have sucked up to him. I might suddenly have a flash of self awareness and regret lashing at at campus!Onimi just because he disturbs me.

Zonoma Sekot renounced my love

I went to the Untitled event at the MOCA on Saturday, and the Star Wars exhibit at the California science center (okay, I didn't get in but I saw a glimpse of it outside the gift store).

The first event gave free access to the Skin + Bones exhibit (interesting fashions) and the at the second my mom bought my Force Heretic III. It seems like more accusations have piled up on the Yuuzhan Vong entry on Wookieepedia. I have contributed some tidbits to Wookieepedia under the name Elmira_Val (I plan on making a profile sometime soon).

Anyone heard of the rock band Kindle?

Omnis Mundi Creatura (translation)

"Every creature on earth
resembles a book and a picture,
like looking in a mirror, ×2

Our life, our death
our position in life, our destiny,
faithful symbol.

The rose reflects our position,
a fitting interpretation,
lessons about our life.
While it blooms in the early morning,
its blossoms fade
and petals fall with age.

Our life, our death
our position in life, our destiny,
faithful symbol.

Hist life, his existence,
his sorrow tribulation and obligation
to end life in death.
Death ends life, sorrow ends laughter
darkness ends daylight, high tide covers the seaport,
morning ends evening.
Mockery drives away the sorrow
worn by the mask of death,
tibulation plays the role of death.
Our first assumption is tribulation,
our second is sorrow,
and then death wins.

Our life, our death
our position in life, our destiny,
faithful symbol. "

It's the translated lyrics of a Helium Vola song, taken from a Latin text.

Arjuna OST

I love this soundtrack. Bought it one day at Sam Goody. Very creepy atmospheric music for a show that isn't well known (I actually haven't watched the show). However, it is by Yoko Kanno, who is like the Japanese animation equivelant of John Williams. And John Williams is the Man. If you like anime OST's, you ought to download this one because I suppose the album is hard to find in stores.

I hope you like this better than I liked uploading it (Before Breakfast kept ending up as a error message)

Arjuna : Into the Another World

Favorite tracks marked with <3
1.Early Bird <3
Very creepy female vocals, very emotional, although it's a little short.
2.Awakening
Chanting, more on the creepy side with some man blabbing in some sections
3.Cloe <3
Cheerful stuff, still good. Vocalist from Early Bird
4.Time to Die
More Creepy stuff with the Japanese man wailing
5.2nd Life
Atmospheric guitar solo, sort of like trip hop.
6.Diving <3
Middle Eastern style chanting and Spanish guitars at a rather fast pace. Love it.
7.The Clone
Some children chanting while playing jump rope doubles? That's what it reminds me of
8.Feel The Circle
This reminds me of some of the quieter tracks from Star Wars
9.Aerobics
Electric guitar solo that makes me think of stair climbing in a dirty building
10.Omega Blue <3
I was thinking Evanescence
11.A Drop of Time <3
Some children frolicking and singing and stuff
12.Resonance of the Earth <3
It's lame and epic chanting but I love it
13.Prophet
I think of xylophones and rainforests apparently. Very epic
14.Before Breakfast <3
This be an Irish jig :D
15.Bells for Her
It's a softer, longer rendition of Drop of Time but it's worth listening to anyway
16.Motor Bike
Maaya Sakamoto sings this. The sound matches the name and makes you think of riding a motor bike really!
17.Diamond
Simply piano tune. Makes me think of the big city and all that.
18.Mameshiba
Also sung by Maaya Sakamoto. It's a long song that has lots of twists. It's very upbeat and pop but it has it's moments. Plus the guitar parts are nice.
19.Air and Stars <3
Very downbeat song with no background. It does remind me of air and stars coincidentally.
20.Aqua + Mameshiba string version
A hidden track tacked on to a song that I really like. Both are really good (calming effect). I recommend this track the most along with Early Bird

Nabbed from Singfish search engine

From Autumn to Ashes: Normally they're a screaming death metal band, but they have two ballads from their album the Fiction We Live that are in my taste. Thanks to kippixin on deviantart for introducing me to those over a year back ^^
Autumn's Monologue: This song has a lot of meaning to me, not because it's about a girl and their unrequited love, but the context of it. When I was told about General Grievous' long monologues, I thought of this song, no matter how out-of-character it may be >_>
"Oh why can't I be what you need,
A new improved version of me....."
The Fiction We Live: This song is the "reply" to Autumn's monologue. Very short but very thought provoking. Perhaps Autumn was obsessed with a fictional character?
Vienna Teng:A "folk" singer but I'll just say soft country without the accents or the cheatin' on wives and the trucks. They aren't well-known in the mainstream but do try.

OMFG

The Yuki Kajiura songs I posted a while ago sure seem to have been popular. Do you know of anybody who has linked to these on an anime forum?

Now, should I do an individual journal for Everybody Loves Grievous? I thought it might get more hits that way >_>

"Huk Removal Plan" omfg

Andrew Jackson, the president who prosed the Indian Removal plan, reminds me of General Grievous a lot.
Posting this as I'm listening to "Creek Mary's Blood" by Nightwish, which is about Native Americans and stuff.
And the history teacher is dissapointed in the work ethics of the class. They don't socialize and share answers to worksheets when they were supposed to.
Author of the "Unknown Soldier" article about Grievous said Grievous was mistaken in having 10 wives in compensation of swordmaster's death and how they were in a permanent relationship with warcraft. Dear gods that could lead to several Jedi sues who are Grievous' TWUE WUB D:
...we all know the only Jedi Grievous has eyes for is Obi-wan XD
Grievous prolly threw a fit and burst into tears at the sight of Qui-gon, who reminded them of Ronderu XDXDXD
And then Grievous had taken opera lessons but still didn't sing very well. But Obi-wan found the singing to be angelic.
No I'm not serious. Except maybe about the Jedi sues.

Do you know where I can find sheet music for the track "General Grievous" from RoTS?

Tue, Sep. 27th, 2005, 09:21 pm
Songage.

All those beautiful people
I want to have them, Have them all
All those porcelain models
If only I could make them fall

-Nightwish - Swanheart
How I feel about the whole popularity/attention whoringness about myself....

"Be Human" from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is a great song, and it's Grievousy. One line in particular.
I'd have so many little babies and maybe a wife.

And of course, the song "Fett's Vette" by MC Chris rocks :O

Bother

I went to school today, only to find it's the 7th grader's only day(hard to explain, but has to do with the 7th graders needing to adjust to a new school while the 8th graders aren't around and so that 8th graders get graduation day to themselves). Phooey, I got up early for nothing.
Atleast the air smells better in the early morning, so I went to the small park around my neighborhood.
If anybody wants songs off the Earth Girl Arjuna Sountrack or the .hack//sign OST 1 and Extra tracks, do give me a hoot over AIM.

Right as the Summer is ending too

I caught a cold...though it would be cool to be coughing and stuff. I'm not taking those over-the-counter medicines or any prescription, they always make me feel worse -_-
I'm supposed to go back to school on the 8th...but I don't feel too prepared.

You can tell I'm into Nightwish -_-
